Q) What are the requirements for filing Personal Status lawsuits?

A) Personal status lawsuits for Muslims or non-Muslims:

∎ The application is categorized whether the sides are Muslims or non-Muslims.

∎ A copy of the marriage contract (a lawsuit proving the authenticity of the marriage).

∎ A copy of the passport of the plaintiff and the defendant.

∎ Original copy of the statement issued by Family Guidance except for verification lawsuits such as proof of divorce, proof of marriage, proof of lineage etc.

∎ Fees:
    ∎ Fee is AED 100 for Muslims and non-Muslims.
    ∎ Alimony application fee is 10.
    ∎ Fee for urgent application is AED 500.
